I am a bilingual multimedia designer and video producer with extensive experience in digital and editorial design. Early in my career, I gained valuable experience working with renowned publications such as Columbia House and the leading daily Spanish newspaper in the U.S., El Diario NY, where I received awards from the National Association of Hispanic Publications for my exceptional design work.

Over my two-decade tenure as a deputy art director at People en Español, I contributed to making it the Spanish-language magazine with the largest readership in the U.S., reaching a peak of 7.1 million readers per issue. During my time there, I designed the fashion and beauty section, as well as People Chica, the English-language section for millennial and Gen-Z Latinas. Additionally, I played a crucial role in expanding the magazine’s digital presence by producing and editing captivating video content and eye-catching banners.

Beyond my work in publishing, I ventured into independent projects. I have produced two short documentaries. The first, filmed in Cuba and released in 2018, follows an  American teenager’s life-changing experience learning native dance. It was published on peopleenespanol.com. The second, filmed in New York and released in 2025, features a retrospective of the Mexican-American artist José Luis Ortiz Téllez.

I also gained valuable experience as an assistant to a film editor on a forthcoming documentary about climate change and environmental justice by Incite Pictures. Furthermore, I contributed to the Venezuelan travel show, 4 Ruedas y un Morral, as an assistant producer and camera assistant for the episodes featuring New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C.

As the art director and photo editor of the non-profit magazine La Viña, I revamped the aesthetic by applying my experience from commercial magazines, overseeing its transition from black-and-white to full color and playing a part in increasing its readership. La Viña is an international publication that shares inspirational stories with its readers.

I also have a strong commitment to education and have had the privilege of teaching at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where I shared my expertise under their ¿Hablas Diseño? continuing education program.

Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, I earned degrees in Liberal and Visual Arts from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and the Escuela de Artes Visuales Cristóbal Rojas. While studying, I co-founded my own design agency, H&R Estudio,  focusing on advertising and book design, where I had the opportunity to work with national and international clients, including Merck & Co. and Roche.

I began my visual art journey at age nine through painting classes. By the time I turned eleven, I had already gained recognition by winning national and international awards. At the age of twelve, I held two successful individual exhibitions. Throughout my journey as an art student, I had the privilege of judging children’s painting contests, contributing to theater sets through my photography and mask work, and showcasing my art installation as part of a group exhibition.

In my personal life, I cycle anywhere and everywhere and take advantage of New York’s film screenings with Q&A sessions. Some of my most exciting experiences in life have been skydiving in Long Island and scuba diving in the Riviera Maya. As an animal lover, I cannot resist spoiling my two cats.
