I had the pleasure of having Fedora join the People en Español design department 21 years ago. Since day one, Fedora always demonstrated utmost professionalism and the ability to beautifully design stories across platforms. Not only can she crossover seamlessly between traditional and digital mediums, but she is also well versed in video production and editing - making her a well-rounded creative force in the industry.
I always admired Fedora for approaching every assignment with a fresh attitude and a passion for perfection, plus she was never afraid to take on more work to help out the team. Her dedication and diligence make her an ideal creative partner, and anyone will be very lucky to have her as part of their organization. Given the chance, I would definitely hire Fedora again.

I had the great pleasure of working with Fedora Rivas at El Diario/La Prensa (New York, N.Y.) during the years I served as Deputy Director and Director from 1993 to 1996. During that period, Fedora worked on the layout of the newspaper and designed remarkable inserts, as well as the weekend supplements.
She was new blood, but already experienced. In a short time, Fedora received several awards from the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), including first place for cover design. None of this surprised me because soon after, her unique style changed the graphic design of all our supplements, bringing a distinctly modern and avant-garde feel to them.
Fedora always demonstrated great responsibility, creativity, honesty, and dedication in all her work, assignments, and ideas. From the beginning she stood out for her self-initiative, her integrity of character, as well as her great ability to work in a team and under the pressure of deadlines.
Over the years I have watched with pleasure Fedora's transition and growth into the field of video and short documentaries where I was able to appreciate her talent for video editing and production.
In summary, Fedora Rivas is an exemplary professional, a great artist and an endearing person. She will always have my support and recommendation.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Ms. Rivas on multiple projects during my tenure as an Editor at El Diario/La Prensa. She always demonstrated professionalism, creativity and commitment to excellence. She is a team player who will always go beyond what is required.

I have worked with Fedora Rivas for more than 10 years now and I can't say enough good things about her. She is currently the art director of AA Grapevine's recovery magazine La Viña, the Spanish-language International Journal of Alcoholics Anonymous. She has worked beautifully with three different editors in the time that she's worked for us.
Fedora is an excellent art director. She goes above and beyond. Her designs and image selections make the magazine beautiful, and she keeps getting better every year. A few years ago she helped the magazine make a seamless transition from black-and-white to full color to increase readership. She did a magnificent job. She has an amazing ability to find the very best thought-provoking, intriguing images for our stories, especially considering the difficult challenge of our organization needing to be super sensitive about the personal anonymity of our members.
Her work ethic is exemplary. She is always on time or early with deadlines. She has never been late in all the years she's worked with us. She's kind, considerate and thoughtful. Most of all, she's constantly surprising us with new ideas and better ways to make the magazine beautiful, clear and attractive.
I highly recommend her.

Outstanding designer. Not only talented but with a real passion for her craft, with a rigorous and original approach to any kind of project, and always able to explore new possibilities and challenges with a keen eye and a comprehensive approach, in print, video or Internet outlets.
I had the privilege to work with Fedora Rivas during five years on special editorial projects at El Diario/La Prensa, the main Spanish newspaper in New York, she was a highly creative force to our team of editors, journalists, photographers and designers, bringing to a small or big project pragmatic suggestions, and an original and striking vision, with a team work spirit.
Years later I started a personal project, Pie Derecho (a leisure magazine for the Hispanic community in New York), and Miss Rivas recommended to me one of her most talented students from the School of Visual Arts to become the magazine's art director, while Miss Rivas became a consultant, giving us guidance and sharp feedback in every single edition during seven years.
In my thirty years in the editorial business, after working with dozens of talented graphic designers, in Mexico, New York and Spain, I can include Miss Rivas among the best. I recommend her profoundly without hesitation.
